I’m ready for Spring/Summer now, having picked up a bunch of neons and pastels. Here’s what I got:
- Flip Flop Fantasy: A neon coral pink. I’ve been lemming for this forever!
- Peachy Keen: muted light orange, perfect for spring and my cheaper option opposed to Chanel’s June.
- Celtic Sun: highlighter neon yellow. So pumped to put this on my toes this summer!
- Kinetic Candy: pastel grey-blue. This was the last bottle they had in the Electropop collection - it was meant to be!
- White on White: no point buying lovely neons without owning a decent white to put underneath. For ultimate brightness!
- Fairy Dust: Silver scattered holo top coat. I’ve been fiending for a holo polish for as long as I can remember. I can put this over everything, which is awesome!
Yay! Unfortunately I won’t be able to take decent pictures of swatches for another two weeks or so. I’m almost done my first year in residence and I’m out of camera batteries and too cheap to buy more!
My local Trade Secrets gave me a Buy 9 Bottles of OPI, Get 1 Free card a while ago and I’ve finally used it all up and got my free bottle! I have an addiction :) Anyhow, I made some pretty sensible purchases, and by that I mean I bought some great neutral colours. I bought:
Lincoln Park After Dark - I bought this polish long ago before I was really into nails, and I still love it just as much as I used to. A rich, super dark purple; almost black.
Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees - From the Spain collection, this is a dark charcoal blue. I was a bit worried when I put the first coat on because you could actually see little bits of pigment in it and it was really watery, but two coats did the trick! Lovely!
Over the Taupe - A simple light brown, as the name suggests. I had trouble deciding between this and You Don’t Know Jacques from the France collection but I figured since this one was a tad lighter, it’d be better for my pasty skin tone :)
Malaysian Mist - Finally bought a gorgeous nude! It’s a super light pinky beige that requires 3 coats minimum. I was deciding between about a million different nudes, including Coney Island Cotton Candy and Bubble Bath. I chose this one because I found it had the best balance between being pink and being beige :)
I also got myself a bottle of Sandals, Flip Flops and Hip-Hop from Misa Nail Lacquers and I LOVE it. It’s a neon pink - highlighter coloured. I already have it on my toes. A summer polish I wish I had weeks ago!
All in all, I really need to stop. I’m broke, and it’s only gonna go downward from here! I’ve decided to set a few rules for myself: 1) I can only purchase one bottle of polish per trip and 2) I’m going to save up all of my loonies and toonies and use them and only them to purchase polish! No more of this ridiculous addiction!
